Biography

nick wevurski*

was born, raised & overpraised in the woody mountains of Southern Vermont

In the mid-2010s after working for over 20 years slinging drinks & cleaning up after drunks, both Nick and his wife decided f#!k this, and moved west to California… to… sling drinks, and clean up after drunks...by the beach!

Thanks to Owner Mike Lacey ( if you don’t know him, just think ‘the Mr. Rodgers of comedy’, but… nicer); Nick landed his first job on the West coast at the historic Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, CA as a doorman. After working the door for a while, Nick quickly got ‘transitioned’ into a new job as technician in the sound booth, so he would be kept further away from the guests. His time behind the buttons at the CMC firmly cemented his love of the craft, and the comedy community at large.

After finally borrowing balls bulbous enough Nick set out to actually do the thing, & a woeful L.A. stand-up stage birthed yet another un-abortable white-dude comic. But, don’t worry the L.A. comedy scene did what it does; it instantaneously generated less space on the open mic lists for all.

While in Los Angeles studying the tools of the trade, Wevurski also worked behind the scenes in TV production on shows like “First Impressions with Dana Carvey,” Lip Sync Battle,“ and “Duck Commander: Making the Musical.“ Nick even managed to land an Associate Producer credit for Andrés Taboada’s Award Nominated 2024 film “Alta California.” You can catch some of Nick's production work on-screen as a henchman on Game Show Network's "Hellevator," (for almost a FULL half-second!), which could also be currently seen on Netflix. Nick can be heard on past episodes of rad podcasts like "Cosmic Lion Radio," “The Thought Exchange,” & "mature ADULT time.” Nick also appeared briefly in the background of several shots of "The Price Is Right" on CBS this one time when he wasn’t schlepping cupcakes, and nerf footballs for the various reality-TV productions upon which he had worked.

Quickly into the shamanic-ly unpredictable world events of 2020 Nick & family took the hint and moved their rural a$$3s back to the quiet woods of Vermont. When he's not figuring out new, and athletic ways to hurt himself; Nick mostly just exists with his wife and kick-ass dogs Newman, Angus, & Iggy (@iggstheham on Instagram).

Somewhere between class clown and class know-it-all, Wevurski's style of stand-up comedy can best be described as the "laughter inducingly precise, and critical observations of a barfly-befriended blockhead." In other words: just simmer-down, order a drink, and have a craic.
